Our new showroom will be opening in just a few short days...
Every day has been so busy at the showroom. I got keys to the store on January 10th, and have been working almost non-stop to get the doors open as soon as possible. With the exception of a pretty nasty cold that knocked me out for part of a week, we haven't had any disasters, thank god.
With a ton of help from my mom and a few other helping hands, we got the place painted pretty quickly. Inventory and displays are coming through the doors on almost a daily basis, and I've been trying to keep our records and books straight in my new accounting software.
The awning should be going up any day, and I'm really eager for that to go up. It feels so official!
We were a little set back on the delivery of the flooring for the showroom, but that arrived late last week. Installation begins tomorrow morning; I can't wait! My Dakota Burl and Bio Fiber plywood are coming in tomorrow too, and that's what I'm using for the baseboards and shelving. Hopefully I can work on getting that cut down while the floor is going in.
Because of the big work tomorrow, our store mascot/family dog, Butkus, can't come to work with me tomorrow. He's going to be so disappointed! He loves to sit in the front window next to our temporary "Coming Soon" sign. He's great marketing! And for a few days he was almost as green as Kermit, because he "helped" my mom paint.
So, after the floor and the shelving are done, we'll jump into action to open up. I'll open for business as soon as I possibly can--and then a big public grand opening is scheduled for Feb. 23rd and 24th!
Photos of the build-out coming soon. I can't wait to compare the before and after pictures!
